Abstract
Interpretation in LCA needs to fit to the overall project. In prospective LCA we often evaluate climate change mitigation strategies in order to proceed to a (carbon) circular economy. In interpretation distance to target approaches are common. For the interpretation of prospective LCA we propose an interpretion approach, where the distance to target is amended over time. Since a linear approach seems not sufficcient, an approach is proposed, where the distance is still accounted high until the gap closes up a lot. The approach can be used for digitalization. On an example of an existing study, the interpretation approach was tested. Until a few years before the target is acchieved (i.e. 2050) the interpration still foccusses most on greenhouse gases. Soon thereafter acidification, eutrophication and especially land use take over the lead.
